Beginner Agility
Instructor: Carrie Kelly

This class will introduce new teams to the fun sport of Dog Agility. Your dog will learn how to safely perform all of the obstacles, while you learn the handling skills to effectively maneuver your dog around a course. Introduction to weave pole training, safe and accurate performance of contact obstacles, and jumping skills will be the focus of this progressive class. Agility is a fun team sport and there is much to learn! You and your dog will develop an amazing bond as you learn to work together as a team. The benefits of agility are way beyond just something fun to do with your dog. Of course, it's great for active, high-energy dogs but it's also great for building confidence in shy, reserved dogs.

Way to Weave!
Whether you are starting from scratch with a young dog or looking to fill some “holes” in your weave pole training, this class will take your weaves to the next level!

For the young, untrained dog: Using a variation of the 2x2 method, we will shape weaves from the very beginning to give your dog a solid understanding of his job. The focus is on building value for the poles and creating an independent weave pole performance.

For more experienced dogs: Based on your individual team’s needs, we will work on your dog’s ability to find the entrance, improve speed and forward focus, increase distance and/or add distractions.

We may work on related exercises to improve those skills. You will be given a worksheet to track your progress.

For pups/dogs 10 months and up
Prerequisite: Pup/dog should be able to work off lead
